About

THE ALLEY THEATRE began in 2014 with a production of MACBETH, in the ANDERSON MUSEUM OF ART, across the street from CENTRAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH.  Since then, it has continued to perform classic scripts in it’s own JAKE HOOVER STUDIO THEATRE and Shakespeare plays at THE ANDERSON MUSEUM OF ART.

Our seasons run November-March, with one production per month, four performances of each production.  One of the five productions has, traditionally, been a musical.  The final production of the season has, traditionally, been a production of a Shakespeare script- performed at the MUSEUM.

The JAKE HOOVER STUDIO THEATRE space, where THE ALLEY THEATRE performs, is a “black-box-proscenium” space which can accomodate one-hundred patrons for intimate productions configured for “proscenium”, “thrust” or “theatre-in-the-round” performances.

General Auditions are open to anyone and everyone.  Experience in the theatre is not necessary, anyone with any experience (or none) is welcome to audition.   Actors at THE ALLEY, in each production, range from “first-timers” to “seasoned professionals”.  Auditions to cast the entire season are generally held the second weekend of October.
